In early 1929, the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission of the National Government secretly sent Xie Guoliang to Peiping to invite the 13th Dalai Lama’s representative, Konchok Jungne, stationed at the Yonghe Lamasery, to attend the Grand Funeral of Sun Yat-sen in Nanjing. However, Konchok Jungne was unable to attend the funeral due to illness.
