In August 1929, Konchok Jungne and two other people claimed that they had received a letter from the 13th Dalai Lama. They first met Yan Xishan, Chairman of the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission, in Taiyuan.They were then received by Chiang Kai-shek himself in Nanjing, on September 10.
