The 13th Dalai Lama sent platoon leader Ding Ceng to Lijiang to meet with Liu Manqing. In his letter afterward, he fully recognized Liu’s work and requested that she report the truth about the conflicts in Xikang and Tibet to the Central Government on her return. He further invited her to visit Tibet again after the war was over.
